Maple Class trip to Twycross Zoo

On Monday 16th October Maple Class spent the day at Twycross Zoo.

They had a brilliant time finding out all about the animals and birds they saw there. During the day the children made notes about each animal/bird and whether they might be vulnerable and could possibly become extinct.

The children had an hour's talk about extinction, where they learnt about the animals and birds close to becoming extinct if nothing is done to help them.  Also they had a slideshow about global warming, and the ways in which they can help by simply switching off lights etc.  They stroked the skin of a silver fox, stroked a cockroach, were shown the skull of a rhino and also a snake skin, it was so interesting!
