Goodbye Mrs Freeth

On the afternoon of Tuesday 20th December, the iMAT, staff, governors, children and parents held a special assembly to say goodbye to Mrs Freeth, our Headteacher.   It was a very emotional occasion for everyone.   The children sang her some of her favourite songs, read out their own words about Mrs Freeth, and they played a video they had made in secret with the help of the staff!  She received some wonderful gifts including gardening vouchers, a beautiful bouquet, an engraved watch, a superb leather rucksack and a 'Memories of Kilsby School' book (containing photos, and a note from every single child in the school) that we know she will treasure!

Mrs Freeth has been Headteacher at Kilsby School for 5 years and has transformed the school for the better, we are very sorry to see her go, she will be hugely missed by all.  We wish her a very happy, healthy and enjoyable retirement, and hope she will pop in to see us when she can.

Here are a few photos taken during the assembly:

Christmas Performance

The children worked very hard learning their lines and practicing for this year's Christmas play called  "The Spirit of Christmas."  They performed three times this week for parents, grandparents etc. They are now ready for a well deserved rest!  We hope you all enjoyed the performance, here are a few photos taken over the three days:

Christmas Lunch

The children enjoyed their Christmas lunch in school today, with crackers and Christmas songs playing in the background.  They all had a super time, thanks to Rachel our cook who worked very hard in the kitchen to feed us all!  Staff included!

Christingle Service

On the morning of Friday 16th December the staff and children joined Rev Nigel, parents and villagers in church for the Christingle service.  As usual they sang sang Christmas carols and some Year 6 children did a reading.  Rev Nigel spoke about the Christingle and what it all means.   The Christingle candles were lit and the church lights dimmed, they looked really pretty.  Here are a few photographs:
