WW2 Day in Maple Class

On Friday 30th September the children in Years 5 and 6 (Maple class) had a WW2 experience day in school.  They came to school dressed as children in the early 1940's, and of course, they had to bring their gas mask to school with them too!  The children found themselves evacuated to different counties, where they learnt to 'make do and mend', they made vegetable soup (after digging the vegetables up in the garden) and recreated a blitz picture of the bombing of Coventry Cathedral.  Mrs Woon came into talk to the children about rationing during WW2, it was very interesting.  The children had a fantastic day, and learnt a lot about how people survived during war time.

Letter and Card from The Queen!!!

Over the summer holidays the children of Maple class received a letter and card from The Queen!

It was in response to an invitation they had sent to her inviting her to a special tea party on June 10th,  in celebration of her 90th Birthday.

The children were thrilled to receive such a special correspondence from The Queen, so we thought we would share this with you too!

Reception Class

Monday 5th September
Our 16 new Reception children are settling in to school very well on their first morning at Primary School!  They have a brand new play house outside in the outdoor play area, which is fantastic! Also the role play area indoors has been set up as a hospital.  Here are some photographs taken this morning:
