Leavers' Assembly

On the morning of Wednesday 20th July family and friends were invited to our Year 6 Leavers' Assembly.

The children shared some of their school memories with us from when they were aged 4 in Reception throughout their school life to Year 6.  We managed to sneak a few baby photographs in (courtesy of the parents) for an entertaining few moments too!

It was a moving occasion, as always, with laughter, tears and smiles.  We are very sad to see our Year 6 children leaving Kilsby School, but also both excited and happy for them as they move on to the next important stage in their lives.  We hope they will remember Kilsby School with much fondness, as we will them.

We wish all our Year 6 every happiness and success in their future lives, we know they will all do extremely well whatever they choose to do.

House Cup Winners!

Congratulations to all the children in Telford House for winning the House Cup  this school year!

Sam Chalkley, the House Captain received the cup on behalf of all of Telford in assembly yesterday (Tuesday 19th July),  standing with him are Cole Connolly (House Captain of Stephenson) and Myles Beesley (House Captain of Brunel).

Bishop's Award for William!

On Tuesday 19th July, William Gibbs (Year 3) brought a special trophy into school to show all the staff and children.

He had been given the Bishop's Award for R.E. (from the Diocese of Peterborough) for his reading and knowledge of R.E. and for putting this into daily life.

Many congratulations to William!

Stratford Butterfly Farm

On Tuesday 5th July the children in Chestnut class (Reception) went on a trip to Stratford on Avon Butterfly Farm.  They had a fantastic time looking at the butterflies in their own habitat and seeing the different stages of the life cycle of a butterfly. Afterwards they had a picnic lunch in the park and had time to enjoy the play area nearby!

Sports Afternoon

On the afternoon of Wednesday 6th July we had a great afternoon of sports with the whole school involved.  The children took part in various different sporting activities including high jump, long jump, middle distance running, sprint, egg and spoon race, three legged race, etc.  The three  Houses, Brunel, Telford and Stephenson competed against each other.  The final result was very close with Stephenson winning with only 4 points in it!
