Chestnut Class Visit To St Faith's Church, Kilsby

The children in Chestnut class have been looking at the book called, "Puddles Lends A Paw".  The book introduces children to aspects of the Christian faith.  It captures the interest and imagination of the children through the adventures of Puddles a very mischievous cat.  So in connection with this, the children took a walk round to St Faith's Church, Kilsby this morning. They had a look inside and outside the church to see if they could find any of the things they had been reading about in the book! Here are some of the photos taken during their visit:

Miss Lee's Sponsored Bike Ride Update!

We have at last been able to get hold of some photos of Miss Lee's sponsored bicycle ride from Vietnam and Cambodia in aid of Cancer Research.  She has been away from school for almost two weeks and has cycled from Vietnam to Cambodia, a 400 km trip!  Having completed the distance she is now taking a well earned rest for a few days before returning to England.

Along the way she has met some interesting people and seen some wonderful sights, cycling through towns, villages, paddy fields, banana plantations and taking a ride on a little wooden craft to cross the Mekong River!  The temperature has been hot up in the 30's. We look forward to hearing all about her trip when she returns to school on Monday 30th November!

Children in Need

Today the children came to school wearing something spotty and brought in a donation for Children in Need.  We placed different coloured spots on the hall floor and put our money onto all the spots.  We have collected a lot of money and at break time this morning we shall be selling some cakes, again all the sale proceeds will be given to Children in Need.  Many thanks to all parents for their continued support.

Remembrance Day 11th November 2015

The children attended a special Remembrance assembly in school this morning with Rev Doug where they thought of all those who fought, lost their lives and were wounded in the world wars and current wars.  Each class had made their own wreath of poppies which they laid at the war memorial at St Faith's Church, Kilsby where they held a 2 minute silence at 11am.  Here are some photographs taken at the memorial:

Cherry Class

The children in Cherry class have been looking at flowers in science.  They looked very closely at the different parts of a flower and then made their own using paper, naming all the parts.  Here are some photographs of the children examining the flowers.
